Just Recruitment are currently recruiting for a part time Transport Co-ordinator for a manufacturing client in Witham.
Duties will include: -
Organise and administer all day to day operations of transport for the Company.
Logistics requires the setting of delivery routes for the safe delivery of orders, notification of deliveries with clients, and the management of drivers, temp drivers and the vehicles along with setting, planning and printing of delivery boards and associated drivers legislation.
Source temporary drivers and vehicles from Preferred Suppliers, at competitive rates, as and when required.
Temp Drivers – Ensure Induction is carried out and recorded with HR (see separate Process).
Ensure that drivers comply with all relevant Road Transport Legislation, including the correct and timely use of tachographs and Company reporting procedures.
To plan the weekly workloads and ensure drivers are communicated all deliveries/collections and achievable within the permitted driving times and the cost effective use of available transport fleet.
Allocate and resource in a fair manner the Driver workloads and hiring of all additional Driving staff.
Ensure all required Driving related records are maintained for reference and audit purposes.
To source and organise the training for drivers and designated personnel, to ensure full understanding of Road Transport Legislation requirements.
Reporting staff: Drivers. Includes responsibility for performance management including Appraisals/reviews and training, in line with Company policy.
Ensure that the Company comply with all relevant Road Transport Legislation, and managing the Company Operators Licence.
Check and validate all tachographs and timesheets.
Maintain an up to date record of all tachograph charts, digital tachograph records and timesheets.
Maintain maintenance records of all Company vehicles, ensuring Service/MOT/ Inspection/Road Fund Tax dates are fully complied with in liaison with drivers (as applicable).
Ensuring Vehicles are maintained and defects are corrected, to keep a safe fleet of vehicles. By monitoring and recording the daily defects records for all delivery and service engineers vehicles, including carrying out spot checks to ensure they are fully compliant, and arrange for repair at competitive rates, as necessary.
Schedule and facilitate all Vehicle checks in accordance with the current legislation.
Previous Transport Co-ordinating experience
Willing to work part time hours
Knowledge and understanding of the transport industry
Working hours: -
07.30 – 12.30 hours inclusive Mon–Friday = 25 hours per week
Salary will be £12,493 per annum with added attendance bonuses.
