Product Inspection Technician

Duties will include but are not limited to:

Work collaboratively with all departments to effectively plan production based on manufacturing orders, capacity and customer expectations.

• Update and maintain the capacity
• Ensure all orders are scheduled for manufacturing on the day of receipt in line with the company’s KPIs and business strategy
• Ensure issues associated with the manufacturability of the orders are escalated for resolution in a timely manner
• Ensure drawing issues are escalated to the Engineering Team for verification as required
• Attend daily morning production meetings and make necessary scheduling adjustments as required
• Maintain all related data including accurate ship dates, statuses and picklists
• Communicate effectively with the Purchasing Team to ensure adequate materials are kept on site
• Focus on delivering the best possible lead time to customers and continuously review past lead times to drive improvements
• Respond proactively and willingly, embracing change, along with daily interruptions to planned workload, including reprioritisation of customer-specific orders as required

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will be responsible for monitoring, inspecting and proposing measures to correct or improve products as well as processes to meet established quality standards.

Essential duties:

• First contact for internal and intercompany quality issues
• Customer claim handling
• Administering consumer repairs
• Participating in and leading improvement projects
• Administering PFMEA process
• Maintain and communicate integrated objectives at agreed intervals
• Documental control
• Overseeing the PPAP process
• Maintain and update work instructions and standard operating procedures for production
• Perform quality control training with production staff
• Create and perform quality and environmental awareness workshops at agreed intervals
• Handling supplier quality issues
• Participate in the internal auditing program

Education and formal training:

• High-grade GCSE’s in maths and English or equivalent required
• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject such as business and engineering preferred
• ISO9001 internal auditor

Experience:

• Practical experience working within a quality assurance or a similar field
• Practical experience working within a manufacturing environment
• An understanding of Lean Six Sigma techniques is desirable
• An understanding of other international standards such as IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 27001 and PAS 2060 management system requirements is desirable

Just Recruitment is recruiting for a CNC Turner to operate CNC Lathes, on a double-day shift for a company based in Braintree - due to its continued growth and succession planning.

Scope:

• You will be responsible for setting and operating CNC machines.
• Loading and running programs through prove out according to the tools list and work instructions.
• Producing a valid first-off component.
• Loading and operating machines to meet desired quantities.
• Conducting in-process inspection, checking against drawings and specifications to ensure they are made accurately and to the highest standards.

Skills:

• Experience in setting and operating CNC sliding head machines.
• Experience in reading and understanding engineering drawings and tolerances.
• Proficiency in a range of measuring equipment and inspection techniques.

Hours of work:

Earlies

Monday to Thursday, 5.30am to 2.30pm.
Friday, 5.30am to 1.00pm. 39-hours per week.

Lates

Monday to Thursday, 2.00pm to 10.30pm.
Friday, 1.00pm to 8:30pm. 39-hours per week.

Additional hours at overtime rates are available to suit business demands.

Just Recruitment is working with a growing organisation, based on the outskirts of Sudbury - due to growth and expansion, it is looking to add a CAD/CAM programmer to its long-standing team.

The key purpose of this role is to support the production team to deliver quality parts to existing customers.

Key duties include:

• Programming and nesting parts for 2 Trumpf machines, using Radan Software
• Programming 3D 5-Axis router (experience preferred but training will be provided) using Mastercam
• Drawing control for the Manufacturing team using AutoCad
• Working with the production and office staff

Skills and experience required:

• Previous experience with reading and understanding engineering drawings
• Proven background in CNC programming
• Self-motivated in a confident, polite and professional manner

Key duties include:

• Evaluate engineering drawings received at the initial enquiry stage.
• Process customer enquiries through to the preparation of quotations on our internal CRM software (training will be provided) and communication to customers.
• Liaise with material and component suppliers to obtain costings.
• Raise works orders for issue to production.
• Work with the existing design, estimating and Customer Management Team.
• Help manage customer relationships.

Skills and experience required:

• Understanding of or ability to rapidly interpret engineering drawings.
• Self-motivated in a confident, polite and professional manner.
• Efficient time management with the ability to work on your own initiative as well as within a team.
