The Just Recruitment Group are currently looking for a Project Manager for our client, a leading, multi-professional consultancy practice, in Chelmsford. They are a small but well-established team working predominantly on public sector contracts in Essex (school refurbishment/new builds, council-owned leisure facilities etc.)

The emphasis on this role is to undertake all duties necessary to lead multi-disciplinary project teams and ensure delivery of the project objectives. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of new-build and refurbishment schemes, mostly education and local government projects.

Typically you will:

  • Co-ordinate and lead the activities of team members
  • Monitor project activities, project fee income and expenditureundefined
  • Ensure deliverance of business plan objectives
  • Key account management, ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Provide expert opinion
  • You will work closely with our other divisions (Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying) and will benefit from the skills/expertise across the Practice. 

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

  • Have the desire and capability to progress their career.
  • Experience in a similar role with a construction consultancy
  • Knowledge of building technology and construction principles
  • A good understanding of forms of building contract (including JCT and NEC3) and experience of contract administration
  • Ability to control day to day programming and planning, monitor progress and expenditure of projects
  • Excellent communication and client facing skills, combined with strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Membership of a construction related professional body, such as CIOB or RICS – desirable
  • Project management related qualification (Prince2 or similar) – desirable
  • The position will require travel to client meetings and other UK sites, therefore a full UK driving licence will also be essential.
