Just Recruitment is supporting a growing business, based on the outskirts of Ipswich that is looking to add a Stock Controller to its team.
You will be working within a busy, fast-paced, team-orientated, customer focussed Sales Department. The emphasis of the role will be to ensure that the company’s stock levels meet business needs. It will involve overseeing purchase requirements and trends replenishing stock levels, monitoring shipments and liaising between departments and transport companies.
Good communication skills, the ability to problem solve and seek solutions are essential, whilst applying attention to detail with a diplomatic and pro-active approach. As an individual, you should be familiar with supply chain procedures and be able to interact with suppliers, clients, and internal departments.
Outline of responsibilities/duties:
- Development of stock requirements reviewed monthly
- Forecasting supply and demand to prevent overstocking and running out of stock (OOS)
- Monitoring and checking stock and troubleshooting through short stocked periods
- Placing orders to replenish stock levels as needed
- Schedule and organise transfers and deliveries
- Track shipment progress of inbound stock and warehouse stock and address any delays
- Submitting details on in-house system
- Keep updated inventory records (including daily shipments)
- Analyse stock trends to identify patterns to assist in forward planning and trends in slow-moving stock
- Liaise with the warehouse to evaluate the storage of stock
- Liaise with warehouse staff and other internal teams regarding product quality (status upon delivery and storage conditions)
- Co-ordinate and carry out regular inventory audits
- Review of stock outages and reporting issues
- Picking shortages
Key skills/qualifications/criteria:
- Proven experience as a Stock Controller or similar role
- Good understanding of supply chain procedures
- Proven advanced level of computer literacy - Microsoft Excel/Word/Access
- Sound administrative experience
- Knowledge of inventory management software
