Just Recruitment is recruiting for an Accountant & Credit Controller to join a manufacturer based in Haverhill, Suffolk.
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that appropriate credit control procedures are followed for the benefit of the company as well as to support the Financial Controller with reports and undertake bookkeeping and accounting duties.
Duties/key responsibilities:
All aspects of credit control and managing the accounts receivable ledger including investigation and resolution of challenging accounts
- Liaising with other departments to resolve client queries including invoice disputes
- Preparation of the cashbook on a daily basis and posting of cash receipts
- Taking payments, raising invoices and credit notes
- Setting up and maintaining client data/information
- Credit checking potential new clients
- Analysis and review of overdue debt including preparation of bad debt files
- Preparation of forecasted receivables on a periodic basis
- Preparation of month-end documents and posting journals including accruals
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparation of regular reports to the Financial Controller
- Assisting with budgets and standard costing
- Assisting with internal and external audits
- Reviewing computer reports for accuracy and meticulously tracing errors back to their source
- Completion of the monthly payroll journals
- Reconciliation of postponed VAT accounting and customs
- Ad hoc duties as required including covering other staff duties when absent
Education/formal training:
- AAT qualification
- Relevant accounting qualification / part qualified
- Competent using MS Office applications – Excel in particular
- Confident in exporting and manipulating data for reporting and analysis

- Monday to Thursday, 08.00 to 16.30 with 30 minutes unpaid lunch break
- Friday, 0800 to 1330 with no lunch break
