Role responsibilities include:

  • Able to read engineering drawings.
  • Working with cast resin, steel, brass, aluminium and plastic.
  • Generally light work.
  • Production work
  • CNC and manual turning. Good lathe operator. CNC experience would be a bonus.
  • You would be required to be able to set and operate a 2 axis CNC lathe and manual lathe by following a setting sheet.
  • Occasional machining of pancake cable assemblies (counterbalance set up). Training will be given for the right candidate.
  • Working in an air-conditioned room with air replacement system and local extraction for production work.
  • Repair tooling to engineering drawings useful, not essential.
  • Perform pillar drilling, tapping, polishing, cleaning and other tasks as required.
  • Occasional setting for others eventually if trained.
  • Some inspection of incoming goods and tooling.
  • You must clean down the machines and work areas at the end of the day.
  • You must ensure tips/tooling is maintained and replaced as required. Tooling is held on-site in stores.
  • Must have a good work ethic and be flexible due to the fast-paced environment and changes in priorities.

Role requirements include:

  • Jobs and demand vary from day to day as set by the tool room supervisor.
  • CNC and manual turning. Good lathe operator. CNC experience would be a bonus.
  • Ability to work under your own initiative.
  • May be asked to help with some simple handyman tasks.

This position is based around maintenance, fault-finding, installations & testing, working under minimal supervision and reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.
