Duties include:

• Carrying out daily vehicle checks as required using correct documentation in accordance with the company’s policy and processes.
• Informing Directors of any defects as soon as possible.
• Establishing, developing and maintaining positive customer relationships.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant Road Transport Legislation using analogue and digital tachograph equipment and relevant company reporting procedures.
• Ensure timesheets are completed accurately, including all relevant details such as breaks, driving hours, and duty times, in full compliance with driver hours regulations.

Driving duties will require overnight stays away from home due to long-distance driving (i.e. Scotland). There is recompense for these overnight stays, which is paid per company policy

Role requirements include:

• Driving experience, including:- Full UK Driving licence (inc. 7.5 tonne vehicles).
• Must be Driver Certificate of Professional Competence qualified (Driver CPC qualification for professional lorry drivers).
• Demonstrable flexible, adaptable and positive approach to prioritising tasks and working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

The key purpose of this role is to ensure that all vehicles, equipment and assets are serviced and maintained in a safe, cost-effective and efficient manner.

Key duties include:

• Complete all defect repairs, fault diagnosis and maintenance requirements as is necessary, to ensure all vehicles, trailers and equipment are kept in a safe working condition.
• Assist your colleagues when necessary to maintain an efficient service.
• Complete all paperwork clearly, accurately and in a timely fashion. This will include Job Cards (work description, parts and times), various types of inspection forms (vehicles, trailers and equipment) and any other paperwork that is deemed necessary by management.
• Prepare, present and accompany vehicles and trailers for annual MOT inspection to ensure they pass.
• Carry out periodic safety inspections on all vehicles and trailers to ensure they meet inspection standards.
• Always adhere to all workplace health and safety standards (including wearing appropriate PPE) and ensure compliance with regulatory body regulations and standards, including maintaining equipment, tools and the workplace.
• Ensure all areas of the workshop and equipment are maintained in a safe operating condition and any defects are reported through the appropriate process to provide a clean and safe working environment.

Role requirements:

• A mechanical qualification is essential – as is the desire to keep learning and to keep up to date with industry standards.

• You must have experience in maintaining HGV vehicles.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm.
