Just Recruitment is working with a global food producer based near Sudbury, that is looking to add an experienced Purchasing Specialist to its team.

This is an excellent opportunity to get involved with all processes, including implementation across the wider business team.

The key duties for this role include:

  • Managing and being responsible for the procurement process
  • Lead negotiations of contracts with suppliers
  • Collating supplier quotations and ensuring procurement requirements are strategically sourced from the best suppliers
  • Build relationships with new suppliers and onboard as per the company guidelines
  • Creating cost models and price analysis
  • Assess and review supplier performance against KPIs
  • Maintain communication with relevant managers to ensure production priorities and shortfalls are addressed in a timely manner

Specific requirements and experience needed for this role:

  • Proven experience with direct and indirect
  • Highly motivated and delivery focused
  • Experience in food manufacturing with exposure to chocolate or cocoa
  • Analytical
  • Great negotiation skills

You will be a team player as well as self-motivated and highly organised – capable of managing a dynamic workload. Key attributes include attention to detail and the ability to communicate across functions. You will have a flexible approach with the ability to adapt quickly to market-driven strategic decisions and of course a passion for food production!
