The purpose of this role is to bring in-depth knowledge of product development and trends, producing samples in response to customer requests, and using your detailed understanding to advise the company’s Commercial, Technical, Operational and Quality teams on operational challenges.

Key duties include:

• Advise colleagues and customers using your detailed understanding of products.
• Lead recipe development activities and deliver successful trials/launches in collaboration with other departments.
• Work closely with commercial, technical, operational, and quality teams.
• Keep the business updated with industry trends, new ingredients and market demands.
• Prepare and participate in sensory evaluations and results evaluation/actions.
• Ensure all products comply with food safety, quality and legislative standards.

Role requirements include:

• Excellent palate with a proficiency in identifying organoleptic properties.
• Excellent communicator (written and verbal) with colleagues, customers and suppliers; effective stakeholder management is a key enabler in this role.
• Literate in English and have a capable grasp of mathematical calculations.
• Willing to learn new systems and processes; working knowledge of SharePoint and Excel.
• Strong skills in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).
• Experience with testing in a laboratory environment + understanding results.

Working hours are from Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm — fully site-based.

3 Rotating Shifts (14.00 – 22.00; 06.00 – 14.00; 22.00 – 06.00; Monday – Friday, rotating weekly).

• Undertaking internal audits relating to GMP and finished product requirements.
• Maintain traceability, hygiene, quality, and process records with validation of results, identification of trends, root cause analysis where applicable and instigation of corrective actions.
• Work closely with third-party certification bodies for sustainability, religious and ethical obligations.
• Carry out sampling and investigations for microbiological, allergen, nutritional or customer requirements.
• Working with essential service providers such as Pest Control, Hygiene, and work wear providers.
• Assist with new product/process trials.
• Communicate effectively with all the departments across all levels.
• Flexibility to carry out additional duties as deemed necessary by the business.

Qualifications and experience required:

• Internal auditing experience.
• Ability to use all IT-based packages.

This position involves working closely with the line manager and the wider warehouse team, providing assistance across all aspects of warehouse operations.
