Just Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for a Warehouse Operative based on the outskirts of Colchester. Working within a busy production department, you will work closely with the wider team to ensure all business targets are met and clients' expectations are achieved.

Duties include:

Performing an array of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming stock and materials. Ensure the warehouse/yard is organised and maintain good housekeeping standards.

Key responsibilities:

  • Loading and unloading various materials at different heights, sizes and weights adhering to correct manual handling procedures, using lift aids where applicable.
  • Daily forklift checks (if competent) and weekly racking checks are to be completed.
  • The input of stock, and regular stock counts are to be maintained.
  • Picking, packing and shipping orders correctly and to a high standard.
  • Area to be kept clean and tidy, in terms of cleanliness and organisation.
  • Maintaining the correct levels of stock and placing orders on time using the correct ordering method.
  • Be able to work on your own initiative or as part of a team.
  • Producing work to the high standard.
  • Keeping the general working space and surrounding area clean and tidy.
  • Punctual and arrival ready on time as (early/later shift pattern dictates) – Operatives must be at their machine/work area ready to start work 5 minutes before start time.
  • Bins to be emptied and area cleaned and swept before each shift.
  • Materials from site to be processed and recycled where able. Email account handler where able to decide if materials are to be stored. Any items to be discarded in the appropriate manner using the correct skips.
  • Process all packages delivered to the warehouse goods-in, with appropriate emails to the name stated on the package upon arrival.
  • Ensure transportation trollies are fully utilised, with materials being identified and stored effectively.
  • Energetic and professional work manner in producing the day’s work.
  • Wear PPE that has been provided at all times when on the production shop floor and warehouse.

You will have warehouse-based experience and hold a full and valid counterbalance licence.

Working hours:

  • 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
  • On offer is a competitive salary, 25 days' holiday.
