About the role

Just Recruitment is seeking a Technical Centre Manager for a company that is a global product leader in delivering innovative and sustainable mobility solutions for the vehicle market – based in Gillingham, Kent.

The role will entail:

  • Being an active member of the plant management team and product engineering organisation, leading the site interface for supporting functions to Directors, Chiefs, teams and site functions (finance, HR etc).
  • Enabling the development of products and systems to the required cost, performance and quality targets whilst ensuring flawless launch of products and customer programmes.
  • Ensuring the technical centre teams have the operational tools and resources to execute their activities.
  • Ensuring focus on continuous development and improvement plans to maximise the efficiency and competency of the team.
  • Deploying corporate targets and defining Technical Centre targets to support their achievement.
  • Reviewing, supporting and tracking plans within the Technical Centres.
  • Cascading information to team members and providing feedback to senior management including escalation of non-resolved issues.

  • Deliver the projects.
  • Publish clear project delivery planning.
  • On-time project delivery.
  • Develop and realise benefits from synergies team to team and site to site.
  • Eliminate waste.

Cost:

  • High focus on utilising the company’s broad skillset to develop and implement the best cost development facilities for the FS business.
  • Deliver the budget.
  • Identify and deliver continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Plan and manage engineering CAPEX budget.

Experience required:

  • 5+ years of experience in associated engineering development.
  • Ability to manage a large number of projects/topics in parallel.
  • Experience in Team management across different sites and countries.
  • Demonstrated experience working with customers and presenting at the Director level.
  • Ability to work in multi-functional teams (including but not limited to ME, purchasing and business operations) to meet company business objectives.
  • Understanding of business (budgets, ROI, markets, customers, business forecasts).
  • Experience in budget forecast and management.
  • Available for travelling (customers, suppliers, company sites).

Desirable

  • Knowledge of fuel injection systems and products, IC engines and applications.

About the role

This is a fixed-term Maternity Cover role for 1 year.

You will have proven accounts administration experience, be computer literate with the ability to prioritise and carry out instructions accurately with attention to detail.

Duties include:

  • Process purchase ledger invoices and customer sales invoices/commercial invoices/credit notes using the ERP system and Sage software.
  • Credit control - ensuring debtors are managed in accordance with company financial procedure.
  • Collate all delivery notes from stores.
  • Process supplier invoices on the ERP system.
  • Liaise with stores if processing issues arise.
  • File all paid invoices in the accounts filing system.
  • Reconcile supplier accounts monthly to ensure all invoices are paid.
  • Liaise with suppliers if issues arise.
  • Send customer statements monthly.
  • Chase overdue invoices internally, then with customers.
  • Collate receipts from credit card holders and process the monthly statement.

Sales admin duties:

  • Support the Export Manager with the processing of sales opportunities on salesforce and liaise with Production Administration to publish order acknowledgements.
  • Provide support for the Office Administrator in busy periods and during holidays and sick leave arranging customer visits to include booking meeting rooms, catering, accommodation, arranging merchandise and being available to provide support on the day of the visit.

Hours: 8am to 5pm with 1-hour unpaid lunch.

The role:

You will provide quality control support to the production team by troubleshooting using an array of in-depth inspection techniques on a daily basis in a high-mix environment, so you will need to be comfortable working with a broad spectrum of parts.

This role is a key part of the quality team ensuring the company’s reputation for quality is maintained at a high standard. You will support adherence to quality standards (ISO 9001:2015) by approving materials, in-process production and finished parts.

In addition to manual inspection work, you will be responsible for conducting internal audits, calibration activities and involvement in CAPA (Corrective Action Preventative Action).

Responsibilities include:

  • Measuring and inspecting turned, ground and assembled components.
  • Conducting in-process/final inspection activity and maintaining accurate records.
  • Assisting in improving the process capability of machined components.
  • Conducting and recording calibration and auditing activities.
  • Carrying out such tasks and duties as directed by the Quality Manager.

Essentials:

  • Able to read and use manual inspection equipment including micrometers, Vernier’s and protractors.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • I.T. literate and familiar with Microsoft “Word”, “Excel” or equivalent software.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately.
  • Highly motivated.
  • Qualified to HNC level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience in either a quality-focused role or time served within manufacturing.

Hours of work:

  • Monday to Thursday, 7.30am to 4.00pm.
  • Friday, 7.30am to 3.00pm 39-hours per week
