Just Recruitment has launched an all-new website. Read our Q&A to find out why it’s different from other recruitment sites
I love the new Just Recruitment website. Tell me more about its content.
Well, you can find all the information you’d expect, including the locations of our offices in Colchester, Haverhill, Ipswich, Sudbury and Witham. You can search for vacancies in the usual way, honing in on your chosen location or type of role. Plus you can pick up handy advice about succeeding in the jobs market: CV writing tips, interview skills, advice on what to wear… all the usual stuff.
But where JustRecruitment.co.uk is different from other recruitment company sites is the other content we put up. Click on our website and you’ll have access to barbecue recipes, car reviews, political news and analysis, business insights, and profiles of inspirational people. Basically, if there’s a topic we think you may be interested in, the chances are we’ll write or make a video about it.
Wow. Sounds like a cool place to hang out.
“Wow” very much our aim. We want to create a website that people come to for entertainment and information. Somewhere that’s like other great media channels: MSN, say, or the BBC website.
We understand that people don’t hang out on regular recruitment sites when they want to relax. They come with a particular purpose: to find a job, or, if they’re an employer, to identify potential candidates. As a result, these business-centred sites are often a bit, well, boring.
We want JustRecruitment.co.uk to be different. It’s a place to come when you’re chilling. To learn the truth about weather myths or find out if the latest premium SUV or family hatchback is any good to drive. To encounter thought-provoking ideas and take part in lively debate.
In short, JustRecruitment.co.uk is an online magazine, which just happens to advertise jobs and put you in touch with our recruitment specialists.
I like the idea of a recruitment site that’s also an online magazine. But that sounds like a lot of work to create. How are you going to generate enough content to keep me interested?
We have a large number of consultants across our branches who enjoy expressing themselves. Many want to share their interests, ideas and knowledge with the world. And JustRecruitment.co.uk is their chance to do so.
To make sure the content is razor sharp and well written, we’ve teamed up with an award-winning journalist, Tim Gibson. As well as teaching writing and critical thinking at UWE Bristol, Tim runs The Writing Hut Ltd, a specialist content marketing and copywriting agency that helps businesses like ours communicate effectively. His writing regularly appears in The Daily Telegraph, and he works with some of the biggest brands in the UK.
Tim and his team are helping us develop content that is truly engaging: written in a journalistic style and with a focus on piquing interesting and attracting attention.

It’s worked so far. Consider my interest officially piqued.
That’s good to hear. We’ve drawn on a blue-sky session with The University of Suffolk’s Innovation Centre to develop story and video ideas. Then we teamed up with web specialist Simple Click to bring them to life. We’re already working on the next version of our site. It’ll be even easier to navigate, with great content to keep you coming back time and again.
Does that mean Just Recruitment is now a UK-wide brand?
That’s a good question. It is certainly true that Just Recruitment has broadened its presence in recent years. We now handle accounts in a variety of places outside our East Anglia's heartland, including the South West and the Midlands.
But we’re proud of our roots, and the new website reflects that: we run regular stories about local community events and organisations, such as Needham Market FC and East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), both of which we sponsor. Soon, we hope community projects will be able to add content themselves about activities and events. We’re also launching a special portal for students offering careers advice and general tips for living well.
Sounds to me as if Just Recruitment will become a popular website. Do you think it’ll lead to more candidates or clients for the business?
The short answer is “probably not”. We hope we’ll continue to flourish, but we’re not expecting a sudden flurry of new business. Our concern is more to create a site that reflects our company. And since Just Recruitment is employee owned, that means reflecting our wonderful team. They suggest the ideas for the site and very often bring them to life.
So a trip to JustRecruitment.co.uk is like a trip to one of our offices: it’ll lighten your day, give you a great opportunity to find your next job, and leave your head full of interesting new ideas. We hope you enjoy spending time on the site as much as we enjoy creating it.
