Just Recruitment is seeking a Payroll Administrator for a manufacturing company based in Sudbury, Suffolk.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm (1 hour lunch - 35 hour week).

The role will involve working as part of a team preparing monthly payroll for all group companies (8 companies in all).

Role duties and responsibilities include:

• Maintain the pension schedule for the Group pension scheme.
• An understanding of PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP and SPP.
• Enter Net Pay sums due onto Bankline system prior to authorisation by Group Finance Supervisor and arrange that any statutory deductions are paid to the appropriate body in a timely manner via Bankline.
• Prepare monthly headcount reports to be included in the management accounts.
• Preparing month end payroll journals for processing within Sage.
• Assisting with the preparation of payroll year end reports, mainly for year end and audit and for pay reviews.
• Processing employee expense claims and ensuring they are reimbursed weekly.
• Raise sales invoices.
• Complete ONS surveys whilst working alongside the Finance Director.
• Complete R&D schedules
• Communicate regularly with the Group Finance Supervisor and Group Senior Finance Assistant to ensure that all issues are resolved in a timely and efficient manner.
• Strive to maintain the flexible element within the department, supporting fellow team members.
• GDPR awareness and confidentiality are paramount.

Personal skills and attributes:

• Payroll experience within a similar size Group.
• Computer literate, with advanced use of Word and Excel packages.
• Previous accounting experience, and knowledge of Sage Line 50 package are advantageous.
• Positive and flexible in approach, highly driven and self-motivated.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent numerical skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail, methodical approach to work always ensuring accuracy.
• Reliable, trustworthy and highly confidential due to the requirements of the job.
• Excellent team worker, with the ability to work alone.
• Calm confident and polite when dealing with employees, customers and suppliers.

Please note - this is a physically demanding role where you will be on your feet all evening.
